Selling The Intangible

You buy a lawnmower or a new stereo and you get something tangible. You know what it does because you can handle and explore the object itself with all of your senses.

Just because a product is tangible doesn't make it easy or obvious to understand how to use it. Imagine being illiterate - if a book lacked pictures it would have no value to you.

Intangible Products are not new to the internet.

Here's what I mean. Remember LPs? Phonograph records. When your grandparents bought one in the old days were they buying the black round thing? No. They weren't even buying the ability to listen to the music on it. They were buying Pleasure... which is intangible.

Pleasure is a benefit. It is always subjective and intangible. I would take no pleasure in smoking a cigarette - but since they are often advertised as giving pleasure I presume that some people get that when they smoke.

Intangible products may be a little tough for you to get your mind around... yet they are a massively profitable segment of the internet economy today. These products pretty much all fall under the category of publishing - making some collection of information available to the public.

The benefits of ALL information products are intangible. In general most of the information products we consume involve moving towards benefits like pleasure in some form... though the benefit of a "make money" product may be the delayed pleasure you might expect to get by enjoying the free time and spending power of making the money by implementing the plan you purchased.

If you go to the movies you do it mostly for pleasure and stimulation.

In rarer cases you may be interested in a product which targets your desire to move away from some unpleasantness - dying of cancer perhaps, or incarceration for a crime. Like a lot of things that are “secrets” the stuff I will reveal to you in my coaching will seem obvious to you when they are pointed out.

Much of business success is just common sense BUT sometimes it takes somebody telling you a thing to get it through your head.

I have built my money-making online business almost entirely through Affiliate Marketing.

Affiliate Marketing - what this means is that you sell products to people as a go-between. All you do is find the customers. You don’t handle product creation and other issues.

Like many things this may seem obvious - but are you always building credibility or are you wrecking it by not emailing your list often enough?

#2 most important thing about email marketing is that you should not only mail often but also provide information that people want to read.

If your written communication skills aren’t very good, this is something you need to work on getting better at. If you want to make money with email you have to be an effective communicator. The best way to learn is to practice writing a lot. I suggest you get out there online and start contributing to online forums - this will give you many opportunities to practice writing.

#3 is you have to be passionately committed to working on your business consistently and to understanding your prospects better.

You can do this is many ways. Here are some suggestions:
- read books about sales, marketing and psychology
- talk to people and try to figure them out.
- read online forums, sales pages, and email bulletins often.

If you want to be successful at marketing online - GET IN THE MIX! Don’t be a wallflower. You will learn fasted by studying the things good marketers do and by imitating them in your own marketing - with your own spin of course ;-)

THIS STUFF IS NOT THAT HARD.

But you have to go to work at least ½ hour a day to get it in your blood. Preferable more time, but if you don’t have a lot of spare time 30 minutes a day is a minimum.

I am in the profession of making money by assisting others to achieve winning results with their own home-based professionals.

By "home-based business" I mean network marketing or internet marketing type things. To my way of thinking success in business requires investment.

There Are Basically Two Types of Money-Making Programs

1. Those that promise wealth with little or no investment.

On the internet there are a lot of people merchandising you on the latest way to earn money with a very limited or no investment. I understand the appeal, but I have never spoken with anybody who made much money doing these programs. Many are simply recycling of the principles taught in Joe Karbo's "Lazy Man's Way To Riches" which you can read about HERE

2. Those that deliver substantial profits to those who invest the money to start a genuine business and the time to be taught how to market it. Many of these are "big-ticket" programs.

The Key To Choosing A Big-Ticket Program

Of the second type there are many variations, compensation plans, etc... The primary thing to look at, for me,
is "does this program have a proprietary product?"

IF the program in question is colossal collection of software and ebooks, the product is not proprietary . There are many programs out there selling oudated info-products at inflated prices. The truth is that the same products are ALWAYS available elsewhere for a tiny fraction of the price you will invest to join these programs.

Almost all of us fall into self-sabotaging behaviours. The most
successful people seem to have become so pro-actively self-aware
that they can nip such behaviours in the bud, so to speak.

This takes a lot of discipline. Perhaps thats why success is so
often referred to as a journey, not a destination. At every stage
of accomplishment there are new challenges to be met, new skills

When achieving a certain level of success, its easy to want to stay
there, in our "comfort zone", yet an immutable universal law seems to

Here are some reasons a lot of folks don't make money with their online efforts...

1. Lack of Knowledge
2. No Hard Word and Dedication (Thinking of Get Rich Quick)
3. No mentors or communication with other marketers
4. Are not willing to spend money or time and then expect money to roll in.

5. I think lack of direction is a big cause, too... I know I suffered from that myself for awhile. I have noticed that some people who sign up in my more high-end programs get discouraged quickly and are soon promoting $5.oo money game, chain letter things (which is a bad idea, because it makes you look like a cheap, failing amateur when you email these types of offers to your list).

The most important thing is to choose your market. Your market can'tbe everybody... Thats a corporate market. For home-business your market is a niche.

My niche is people who want time freedom from having a business that generates great cashflow with minimal weekly hours. Who are the best prospects for such a business?

Not everybody... because not everybody has money to invest in starting, nor the discipline to follow through with learning the skills to succeed.

I have found that most people trying to make money are failing at it beacuse they think they can jump from program to program. they believe that some money-making programs are easier to sell because the price point is low or the sign up is free.

The real result of this is they build a customer base of people who want only inexpensive things... and can't afford more high end products...

So... basically in that scenario, the business owner lets her customers push her around.

Flip this whole thing over:

Target people who HAVE money already, sell them a high-ticket product tha delivers exclellent value (even people with money like the idea of having more - so bizops work this way).

When you got involved with Jaguar -MS / Predator Marketing System you probably had this idea that a few ads on the internet would start the traffic and sales rolling in and you would have financial freedom in no-time flat.
Unfortunately, people are bombarded with over 3000 marketing messages every
day, so standing out in that environment can be a challenge.

What does this mean for you? Simply, marketing on the net takes some
skill. Its really imporantant to have your own webpage with your own
domain you control. DOn`t just use this page to sell Jaguar /Predator Marketing System / Liberty League/ emerald Passport/ Global Abundance Program/ etc., use it as a
bridge so people can get to know you and want to do business with you.

Crafting a REAL message is a critical part of getting your marketing
going. Do some research... click on ads, look at how other people are
marketing online and aks yourself whether you would repond to that page
and give that person $4000.oo This is a business of building trust and
long-term relationships...

and so while anybody you bring into the business needs to be
responsible for their own success, its still a good idea connect with
people...

and...

Build a list.

autoresponder like GetResponse or Aweber to do this effectively.

Personally I like to let people who look at my pages know WHY I am in
the business... and people who relate to my reasons are inclined to sign
up for my email series.

I would say, don`t just enter into the internet screaming match "my
opportunity is better", but roll out a reasonable argument for WHY this
business model makes sense and explain the way its a benefit to your
life ...

- time freedom for example.

Look, there are 6 emotional triggers that work with the mass market...
but Jaguar isn`t really a mass-market product... its a niche product.

Now these 6 triggers are:
-fear
-greed
-sex
-desire for social status
-speed
-and ease

I try not to market into fear or greed, mostly because I like to take A high road with the business. (I prefer to market into the ligher flipside of things... ie "what if you could have MORE prosperity so you could dedicate MORE FREE TIME to helping people and making a CONTRIBUTION to your COMMUNITY.)

And with Jaguar I think sex isn`t real valid. Desire for social status is a funny one. I think its been done to death and comes off as disingenous. The major example we see with this in Network marketing is people posing with their cars
(which makes no sense to me... but some folks clearly find it attractive).

Now The way I market with Jaguar is with Speed and Ease as the
triggers. Its not neccessarilly obvious, but I do feel these are the primary
benefits of the system...however it still takes time and though to set
up a smart marketing plan.

and lets face it...

If you came into this business with no marketing experience... you have
a lot to learn. No shame in that. Its just the way things are.

Now let me ask you this-

How many books about marketing have you read in your entire life?

The answer should give you an idea of what you should be doing. If you
have never read any books about marekting I suggest the Guerilla
Marketing series as a starting point.

Though the program continues to grow and deliver great training, its now clear that it takes savvy marketing to make sales consistently. Going with adwords is virtually a waste of time, and money. Those of you who know me through phone conversations may be aware that I am what is sometimes referered to as a "true believer".

Dangerous, To say the least.

I actually believe all this manifesting your own reality, creating wealth and abundance throughg personal development, etc.

But I know, You just want to make a crapload of money with the business. Okay, You gotta start somewhere.

Creating real success with online network marketing is a matter of becoming proficient at online marketing itself. First we need to learn how to promote online to do the networking. The most essential part of networking is building the network, otherwise called “List Building”.

The First Principle of Success: Building A Proper List.

Building a list in the proper manner makes all the difference in how inclined the individuals in the list are to do business with you. Most of the people who visit my website are interested in doing what I am doing, so if they like the way I go about it, they will be inclined to do business with me at some point.

This is critical to understand. List-Building is a long-term enterprise and for this reason is is crucial that you respect the people in your list and don’t promote what I call : Flash-in-the-pan Crap. By educating yourself and only promoting the best programs out there, you won’t have a list of people who think you don’t have good judgement.

People in your list are looking for a leader and leaders must cultivate good judgement and continually work at improving their skills. By improving your own knowledge and skills you can inform the folks in your list in a way that further builds TRUST and REPOIRE.

What is Personal Integrity?

Personal Integrity means you are good for your word. This is a basic concept to running a business. Having Integrity means that you do what you say you are going to do.

It doesn't mean that we never mess up. Its okay for individuals with Personal Integrity to make mistakes. But rather than hiding, telling lies, or running away, those with Personal Integrity make it clear that they are having a challenge. They give their word that they will make it right.

This is very important stuff, especially with all this internet stuff like Predator Marketing System. Its important because we can go about marketing these opportunities with hogwash like:

Get rich doing nothing

Work only 9 minutes a week,etc...

or we can honestly share our experiences.

Frankly I have blown a few big sales of Predator Marketing System because I told the truth to the person asking the questions. Being truthful is having Personal Integrity.

If you want people to respect you on the internet you must conduct yourself with Integrity. This doesn't mean that you cannot express controversial opinions or that you have to roll over to make people like you (they won't, by the way, if you roll over).

What this meand is that you do the best you can to express truth as it is in the moment. The truth that I am personally experiencing at this monent is that Internet marketing is a skill-based process that takes consistent effort to create results.

In my experience, creating success with Predator Marketing System entails:

Reading: so I understand marketing better and the technical apparatus of delivering my message via the internet.

Writing: so I can communicate what I have learned to the people who are aware of me as a marketer.

Speaking: to people who call me and ask questions about Predator Marketing System or other things I know something about. (I prefer calls to email, by the way. My number is 341.359.8494)

Listening: to other people so I can understand people and marketing better.

Thinking: about how to market more effectively, how to educate people more effectively about the business and marketing, and moreover - How I can do all these things with Personal Integrity.

Lets face it - having Integrity around money can be challenging when you are broke. But in business, it is vitally important to act and speak with integrity around money, because the exchange of goods for money is what drives business.

If a person doesn't have integrity around money, do they deserve success?

I don't think so. And if I find that somebody I have entered in business with does not have Personal Integrity around money, I am not inclined to aid them or do business with them in the future.

This comes down to spiritual values as much as anything. Since it is important to me to keep my business clean, I insist on Integrity in my dealings.

The trainers I have studied with have mostly made a big issue of Personal Integrity and the reason is this: in business we are seeking to build long-term relationships. This entails establishing a rapport based on mutual respect and trusth. Since I am in this business not to scam people but to educate them, I seek people with whom I can develop a long-term relationship based upon Trust and Integrity.

Is predator automated system, PAS or 1 step system really what they say they are?

Yes. But what they say they are and what YOU or anybody else thinks they are is different. Some people are looking for a business where they really don't have to do anything, and some promoters are willing to lead these people to believe that they can make serius mony online with no work, no skill, and little investment.

Unfortunately for those people, these programs are not like that. While calling and phone follow-up is done for you by these programs you would still have to market them effectively to have a successful business. Marketing takes time, energy, and some money to do it well.

Can I really make the kind of money people say they do?

Yes. Will you? Only if you market as diligently as they do and spend a comparable amount of money on your advertising.

If/when i join under you are willing to help me with any question I have for you regarding predator automated system?

As far as I am concerrned this is a mentoring business, so the answer is yes.

If/when i do join under you should I be scared that something might go wrong when I send the joining on fee to you?

Wire transfers are very reliable. If you send a bank check by mail and it get lost, it cannot be cashed by anyone but the recipient. I wouldn't anticipate any problems with this part of the process.

Is the predator automated system really a opportunity too good to be true?

Depends on what you mean by that. If you think this you will get that $200k a year by not doing much, yes, it is too good to be true. If you are willing to work your butt off to get there, then No, its not too good to be true. Marketing is a skilled field and the only wayt to make the really serious money is to be good at it.

Depends on how diligently and passionately you pursue your marketing. Also to some extent on how much money you are able to spend on advertising. You could get qualified and making money in as little as 2-3 days, but it will require you actually work the business assertively.

What do you mean by that? It is as automated as it can be. you still have to market it. Automated marketing is a craft that this program teaches, but it may take quite a while to get it to the point where it works consistly and produces the ROI (return on investment) you are looking for.

7-string Guitar

As some readers may know, I play some guitar and actually have built guitars over the years. recently I bough a 7-string classical guitar because I wanted to experience playing one for awhile while I contemplated my own design for a seven string instrument.

Why am I intrigued by the 7-string? It has more range, more color, and more room for growth. This can be seen as a metaphor for the choices we make in life.

For myself, I am inclined to choose paths which force my own growth. I am comfortable with being uncomfortable to some extent. This is what allows me to grow as a marketer and business owner as well.

There are a number of "downline building" companies out there who will get you "guaranteed signups". These are not good ways to build your business. Mostly these things are for lower-cost or free-to-join trial programs, but they may be popping up trying to lure you with signups for Predator Marketing System.

I say this because such a thing happened with Prosperity Automated System and the people who bought te "signups" paid a lot of money and got nothing of value.

There is However another solution...

One way to do your own "downline-builder" is just build a list and consistently send them interesting emails and information. People are attracted to free stuff, etc... and will be inclined to join your business if they....

....like you!

The fundamental thing is to build trust with the people in your list. I have people jumping into my lists who are promoting the same program I am.

Why?

Answer: I provide information about marketing the program more effectively.

A few months from now these folks may join another program I am promoting because they trust my judgement.

Think about it.

People buy from people they know and trust.

Its not entirely about "what" you are peddling, but "who" you are and what you represent. List building is a long-term thing, so treat it as that. Short-term business goals may be achieved by generating leads who are looking right now. Change Your World By Changing Yourself

I recently got a call from a lady who was fed-up with her job and was asking me if Prosperity Automated System was for real. I told her it was shut-down for the time-being do to the SEC investigation.

The conversation turned to Predator Marketing System, which I feel is a more viable model. When I made it clear to her however that she had absolutely no chance of making decent money with these things without learning new skills, she became despondent.

There is no free lunch. Learning to be and effective marketer with Predator Marketing System takes a commitment to working on the relevant skills. It also, I believe, requires a committment to a positive mindset, something this person was unable to muster.

The reason that a positive mindset is required to succeed in internet marketing is that like any other field, it has its challenges, setbacks and disappointments. By vigilantly maintaining a progressive, upbeat mind, we are better able to push through the challenges learning this skill presents.

This goes for many things in life. A positive mindset equips us for success because success always entails challenge. Without positivism we become discouraged by setbacks and challenges.

For those new to internet marketing, or network marketing online for that matter, marketing seems a daunting challenge and probably 95% flounder, a few do ok and a very few do very well.

Why Is This?

It is probably do to a lack of skill development. The internet allows marketers to adapt rapidly to changes but it also is an environment where if one cannot adapt, one will be left behind. I have seen marketing campaigns suddenly go stale within a preiod of days.

Marketing is A Process, Never a solitary event.

Those who comprehend this truth will find themselves adapting to the changes in a very natural way. Those who resist learning the real truths of marketing because:

- it seems like a lot of work

- it seems to technical, etc....

will, many of them, have a great deal of difficulty turning a profit with any kind of business venture in the opportunity field.

With Predator Marketing System or any other similar thing out there the secret to more effective marketing is not to be learned by Reading about it but by Doing It and watching the response. Even with the Veretekk system there is much more to marketing Predator than meets the eye. Observe that the better marketers are consistently branding themselves.

Branding Yourself

can be a daunting challenge when first starting out as an internet marketer, but it doesn't need to be. I have found a particular talent on mine is to enter into a dialouge with the people I am assisting and help them see, clearly, a path to success here.

They usually come in, and I know this from speaking with them, with little knowledge of online marketing but a sincere belief that it is a trend worth following.

I do not disagree there. Online marketing is a powerful trend indeed and Predator Marketing System is a very sophisticated tool for capitlizing on that trend.

The critical mistake many new marketers to the online world make is the neglect of offline marketing methods. many offline methods are easy to implement immediately while online methods have a skill-building curve. The Predator Marketing System is creating quite a stir in the internet marketing world these days. Controversy isn't always a bad thing, and it is said that there is no such thing as bad publicity.

The parent company of Predator Marketing System, Mentors on a Mission, has a history of never making rules about how people go about marketing their programs. However, as competition among Predator marketing System promoters heats up, many have stooped to making outright misleading claims about the system.

Most of these statements are made by promoters seeking to entice people to sign up under them. I have seen it claimed that one promoters team will get TV commercials... There are Tv commericals in the works, but all Predator Marketing System owners will benefit from them, not just members of one team.

Essential Progress

I have been up to the same old stuff and some new stuff.
In the biz, the Predator marketing System is going well.
Sales of this program are helping me to achieve my
goal to total financial freedom in the next few years.

At home the seasons are changing in the Malibu mountains.
I am preparing for the winter and the rainy season. There
is a lot of clay in the earth here so when the heavy rain
comes, so does some very sticky mud. I heat my house
with a woodstove so there is wood to be carried and
kindling to be chopped. I am building a new deck too,
off the back of my workshop.

The shop is cramped and barely holds my 15 year
accumulation of fine woodworking equipment. While
internet marketing, deck building, etc.. has taken up
a lot of my time in the last several months, it is
my sincere intention to go back to building guitars very
soon.

I'm fascinated by the Brazillian 7-string guitar style
associated with "choro" a complex, ragtime-like
form of ensemble music which emerged in Brazil in
the 1890s. It features these fluid bass lines on 7-string
guitar. These instruments are no available readily in the
states, and since I know how, I intend to build one
or two in the coming months.

The Predator Marketing System has been a resounding
success for me, a great payoff for the months of diligent
work at learning the craft of online marketing. I have
recognized a need to become still more advanced in my
marketing however... and I am looking at expanding my
education by studying copywriting.

The possibility in internet marketing is not so much
for a few people to get wealthy, though that certainly does
occur, but for many, many people to add to their incomes
or even become financially f.r.e.e....

But make no mistake... It takes skill to produce
profitable results with this. Perhaps that is why I am so
drawn to and convinced of the value of training. I
attribute my success here to my committment to
training and also to determination. I encourage anybody
with the desire to really start learing how this is done.

SearcH Engine Marketing Misfire....

I recently found my page one Google positions for MalibuMentor.com
"de-indexed". Bummer. It happens. The site should reappear
on google Page One in a day of two. In some cases it may take
a few weeks. Thats Life. It will give some other marketers
an ooprtunity to make sales from SEO positions... I am happy
for them.

My site will be back though. I'm too much of a stubborn fellow
to give up so easily. It may tweak sales a bit, but in the long term
I am still set for life here so I am not so concerned.

Search Engine Optimzation, also known as Search Engine Marketing or
Organic Search Marketing, is a process whereby a website's content
is set up in such a way to make it appealing to the search engines.

Any traffic from search engine Positioning won't cost you a dime.
Unfortunately, getting meaningful positions for relevant keywords
is fairly competitive, so you have to have some real skill to get there.

While I have my own Guerilla Marketing Spin on SEO, the Predator
Marketing System trainings deal with basic to intermediate level work.
Advanced techniques will only make sense once the basics are mastered.

I have seen a lot of people join Veretekk and go nowhere with it and a few really fly with it. Success really comes down to how much desire the individual has for financial freedom.

The trainings are excellent and comprehensive. I tell my new signups to really dive in and absorb the trainings because the advanced marketing techniques I am using personally will not make a lot of sense until the basics are mastered.

Learning to be a great internet marketer is a process of learning how the internet works ( ie. search engines, etc. ) and also learning how to reach people. The dichotomy is that the internet is a machine with no emotional life and people are emotional, spiritual beings.

The process of mastering the distribution of information on the internet is what Veretekk and Predator Marketing System trainings teach. I am myself a product of these trainings and attribute my success to them.

The other, less technical, though equally intangible (this being the post-information age...) is the age old one of reaching into people's hearts and igniting that often fragile hope...

While the name Predator Marketing System strikes some folks as mean, predatory or unfriendly, the environment of the trainings is incredibly generous and friendly. The name Predator Marketing System has to do with the way it is positioned at the top of the internet marketing food chain. A animal Predator does what is in its nature, it ascends to the top of that food chain.

It is interesting to note that when I bookmarked my Predator Marketing System website, the icon it associated with was the Peace Sign. That in itself spoke volumes to me.

Selling It

PAS | prosperity automated systems | Profit Masters | 1-step system | 1-up Automated (defunct) | Coastal Call Center | all are good ideas in principle. Where they fall down is in leading people to believe that internet marketing only takes a few minutes a day. Successful internet marketers usually work long hours producing reams of content, refining ad campaigns, posting to forums, reading, attending trainings, supporting downline, and so on.

The money can be had but don't let anybody mislead you to think there is no price to be paid in learning the enormous SKILL of being an effective marketer. Ad budgets can substitute for skill, to a point. If you are really flush, hire an agency to do it for you.

The successful marketers are generally the more creative ones. The best marketing teachers may be the ones down in the trenches actually doing the marketing you want to be doing. When you start making the big dollars you will have the luxury of purchasing your marketing. Otherwise beware.

Agreed, many are being thrown to the wolves. I spoke with one man recently who came in as a Veretekk lead in my system. He was in his 2nd month of PAS, buying ad packs and trying all the free ad things he could find time for. No money left to spend on marketing. He came in all the way (very proud of his $4k decision). Had he experienced results? Not a nibble. He is currently one of the casualities. A teacher with the summer ending, he is soon back to working 9-5, and his internet marketing will go on the back burner. At the rate he is going will he make his investment back? Perhaps, if the company lasts. Will he be a good marketing mentor for those he sponsors? doubtful at present. Will he get the effortless wealth he was led to expect? Very unlikely.

Some seasoned marketers stopped promoting PAS months ago. Why? They thought it had peaked. Is it viable as a system to market other opportunities? probably. Are some promoters lying about their incoems from it? Undoubtedly. Is it worth $100 plus monthly over 3 years? Maybe. Traffic is driven to the system by the hype of $3k commissions. Almost everybody who buys it does so for the up-front cash potential. Thats why the fever pitch of excitement. Is it getting harder to find buyers? Almost definitely.

Can buyers be found by misleading people to believe that promoting and creating wealth with automated systems is easy?

YES!

Is this how sales are being generated? Yeah, in many cases.

Stop Depending on Advertising

The more I look at the internet direct sales industry the more I see folks promoting systems: each one more advanced and hands-free than the next.
Naieve people look at the promises and funnel their money to the best pitch-men who promise that its easy and the system does all the work.

Unfortunately the mentoring that one ins likely to receive in many situations is "just buy some leads" and if that doesn't work, "just start buying PPC ads," which was more or less that was what I was told when I got started.

Neither approach worked for me, though PPC ads definitely brought in a better quality of lead generally.

Since it all wasn't working for me, I sought out other methods of marketing and attracting people to me and my business. We can get all exotic about it and reference "The Secret" or tak about the law of attraction, but frankly putting out No BS information about what it really requires to create a presence on the web has been sufficient for me.

There is a thirst for knowledge on the net today and I have Bigshots in the industry jumping on my email list hoping they will get some clue as to how to stop depending on PPC and start running a genuinely stable business. The problem with purchasing advetising to build your business is that

a) it can get costly

b) its not a very inspired thing to tell your new recruits to do.

c) it doesn't develop long-term credibility on the net because the ads disappear when you stop paying for them.

d) it doesn't produce duplicable results for the people in your organization, which pisses them off when they go into debt.

There are other ways to build a direct selling business on the net but they require that we excercise our brains (oh, the Horror!) and actually become proficient, creative marketers - Hardly the Dream of Brain-dead Automated Wealth We Bought - EH?

I recently got a smug email from a lady
who was almost gloating about removing herself
from my list....

What?

My perspective: she isn't making any money
with her online marketing efforts. She reads
my emails and is so perturbed that what I am doing
is going so well that she calls me a "predator"
and herself "no easy prey"

Its easy for people to be this way on the net.

be true but for me at least, its not.

Why?

Using Optimized Webpages To Attract Traffic

Since this blog feeds into 21 websites I control, content in the blog is meant to appeal not only to people but to search engines. The mantra of SEO is "content is king" but the content doesn't actually have to make much sense in many cases. It does need to include keywords and relevant keyword phrases to create search engine relevance.

Recently I noticed that a Veretekk website I promote was showing up on the first page of Google one minute and vanishing the next. A fluke? Perhaps. This particular website deals with |free doorway pages| and in fact the content of this blog in included in the site. This creates the impression (and reality) of constantly changing content.

The website is FreePage which is a useful way to throw up free doorway pages pointing at whatever we want them to point at. By "pointing" I mean "linking". So the theory is more or less thus:

a) Build a |free doorway page| with a |Veretekk system| or, better yet, |Web Traffic Connection|, and have it point at your website. The free page may in fact include keywords and phrases which never appear on the website it points to.

b) A press release is created including the same relevant keywords and phrases. Press releases, if not to badly written, get a lot of search engine attention and some traffic. By pointing the PR at the free page we build consistency in content and this is attractive to the Search Engines.

|Free doorway pages| are sometimes debated. Some SEO specialists think they don't work but I think that they do work, but not as well as they once did. Go ahead, hate me for writing this...

The truth is more people probably make full-time incomes promoting the direct sales income opportunities like | Liberty League International | Emerald Passport | Coastal Vacations | and while the "start-up" costs for these companies may be higher ( at least they are commonly perceived that way ) it takes no more effort to promote a plan where you earn $1000-25,000 per customer than it takes to promote an mlm where you earn a $5.oo residual per customer (who stays on autoship).

The direct sales companies are set up not only to attract people who have some funds to start a serious home business with early retirement potential, but also to sort of screen out those who are not capable of building such a business. People who get reactive over investing $1500.oo in starting a business are not the people you want for any team.

By this logic (mine, admittedly, and feel free to criticize me for it) its not the cost of getting the business going that should be a determining factor but whether the person you are recruiting "sees" the potential or not. Often, and I have encountered this many times, a person will call a program a scam but the real reason is they don't have the money to do it, the imagination to perceive the possibility, nor sufficient desire to go out and get the money to get started.

Thats really the rub. I have little interest in signing people up for programs which are practically free to get involved with... because I know the individual has little incentive to turn their stated desire ("yeah, I'm totally serious") into real success.

Excuses often ensue as to why the $50.oo recruit is not doing the business.

Whatever!

Why should I put my heart and soul into mentoring individuals who don't have the mindset that starting and running a business takes money? The whole big illusion with a lot of the MLM companies is that the new distributor has a good chance of bootstrapping him or herself from broke to millionaire in 2 years with "THE RIGHT COMPANY OR TEAM!"

People who are worthy of success will show merit in any situation, however, with the direct sales model it is much easier to spend valuable time only dealing with and mentoring those who are truly serious about building a business and back that up with an investment of time, money, and energy.

Lets have no illusions about what the real product of the MLM industry is: its the dream of easy big money for people with little education and no history of success in business. The vitamins, tonics, magnets, gas pills or whatever are the products that legitimize the industry, no doubt. And its great if you stand proudly behind the product you promote.

But the real money is made by recruiting business builders who have been sold on the same dream.

For this and other reasons I have chosen to primarily market the intangible products of education and marketing tools and the opportunities for users of these to make money as resellers themselves. "Webducation" is said to be the next "megatrend", and
among the hugriest market for it is the legions who are failing with MLM. They need it to succeed.

Be, Do, Have Prosperity Principles

I was reflecting the other day on the way we expend mental energy on unproductive thinking and I was struck, for the first time really, with the notion that problematical thinking comes from a "REACTIVE MIND". The reactive mind only sees problems, obstacles, and impossibilities - and never solutions.

The non-reactive mind (lets call it the "clear mind") sees possibilities only. It may require explanation to communicate how this relates to building wealth and creating prosperity. I got into it in my previous post a bit, though from a different angle. The clear mind when presented with an opportunity looks it over and says (at least this is the way my mind, in its clearer moments, works) "How Will This Work?" whereas the reactive mind puts on a frown and says, "that won't work". The clear mind sets up a situation where it can examine an object, event, or whatever until it has satisfaction in its knowledge of the thing, but the reactive mind judges quickly based on previous experience.

This is why - when we call "leads" we sometimes get harsh rejection. The person on the other end of the call may be so deeply imbedded in a reactive mindset that he or she is actually incapable of positive thinking (possibilty thinking?). And thus continuously engages in a daily procedure of shutting out ideas and stimulous which do not meet arbitrary requriements for legitimacy. Is it any wonder that such people see network marketing as a "scam"?

How to deal with the reactive mind in business prospects. There is no way to get through to these people. They are closed. Its not you or me they are closed to (though those in the reactive mind may have difficulty forging new relationships), they are closed to the possibility of POSSIBILITY in their lives. Until the thinking is changed (and this is an arduous process for many, involving the healing of psychic wounds and discarding of unhealthy habits), these people are...UNQUALIFIED for your time, and almost definitely unqualified to build a business where positivism is essential. Move on, call them in 6 months if you must.

It is no secret that successful people in network marketing continually work to improve their skills and improve their mindset. This is called "personal development" and it is a long established esoteric truth of business that a the amount of money we make will always be in direct proportion to our level of personal development.

I know, I know, it sounds like a lot of hype. Most people on this list are looking for ways to increase their income... and this system is a reliable way to do it. We are talking about multiple income streams here. Its not hard. Easier than digging ditches, for me anyway. It may or may not make sense to you. How much money you make depends on how commited you are. If you are not committed it definitely won't work for you. IF, however, the notion of making $1000 or more weekly with a part-timn effort appeals to you, check it out. Don't get reactive about the price of getting started. That will only make you upset, it won't create abundance at all. DO YOU WANT THE MONEY OR NOT? Its not really about the money. The money is a byproduct of taking action, creating motion, embracing abundant thinking. Being wealthy is a way of looking at life. Money is a part of it. WHY AM I SHARING THIS? So I can make money? SURE. But thats not the only reason. Actually, I'm all about possibility SO ask yourself: WHAT IS THE POSSIBILITY IN MY LIFE? Is wealth possible for me? Could I see myself making a $6-10k in the next month? If I can't see it it definietly won't happen. Creating additional wealth in your life (my life too) is a matter of allowing an opening for it... Engaging in a conversation about it, remaining receptive. If I told you You could make a million bucks in the next 2 years, but it would take $10k to make it happen, would you get reactive about the $10k (investment) or get receptive about the possiblity? INCIDENTALLY, THATS NOT THE OFFER... I don't have a $10k to $1,ooo,ooo plan. I DO have a plan for you to make a couple grand weekly if you want. Times 52, thats a six-figure income. NOT TOO SHABBY. Affiliate marketing, MLM, matrixes, etc.... None of these produce this kind of income right out of the gate in as little as 48 hours. I'm not saying they don't work, but they don't work fast generally. It takes awhile, and often more marketing savvy than many people have to make any money at all... It took me four months to start making little checks from the affiliate programs I promote... though of course, I'm the ZeroDollarMarketer.com guy. I'M NOT WILD ABOUT PUMPING MONEY INTO ADVERTSING! Don't get me wrong, ads work...but they can get costly. The great thing about internet marketing is it can be done without buying advertising. I'm not talking about spending hours every day posting to f.r.e.ee ad boards. That stuff is strictly amateur territory TO DO THIS GAME RIGHT, We Gotta Get SMART! There are a lot of ways to market online... and what works today may not work tomorrow. I'm using some awesome methods that work today, and more importantly, I am tapped into othe resources that tell me EXACTLY what is working today... I don't have to do all kinds of flailing about. THIS STUFF WORKS! You won't have to buy advertising! You Won't have to Buy Business Leads! You will have to learn some skill though. ITS EDUCATION THAT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. Why All Leads Suck!

Now that I have your attention, let me explain that title. In order to promote any business where you have something to sell or a need to recruit people for an organization, you are going to need people to speak with about the business or product.
These people are called leads and they vary in quality according to how you come by their contact information.

Because building a network marketing or direct sales business requires a lot of leads, many turn to purchasing lead lists and calling these people. Among the worst leads are the "opportunity seeker" type. These people have filled out a form for a free offer (nothing wrong with that) and are then "back-ended" with an agreement to be contacted about income opportunites.

Nothing wrong with that either... its just that they wanted to free I-pod or whatever, not the business opportunity. This is the big lie of the lead industry, that people who fill out these forms are looking to start a business. While a small percentage may be receptive, an even smaller percentage will move forward. By the time you have called several hundred you get the idea... They are a waste of time.

The trick is to generate your own leads who are actually looking, or better yet, taking action towards making money. The internet is an amazing resource because it allows us to make contact with people who are actually LOOKING for OPPORTUNITY, not Free Ipods!!!

Is There Such A Thing As Bad Traffic?

My experience is its easy to get bad traffic. Just pay some guy $50 and he'll send you a bunch. But you won't sell anything. This sort of traffic is not targeted.

The right traffic is generated with content. Thats what people look for online and being of service to that agenda positions the entrepreneur favorably.

If we are promoting money making stuff here's what people want:

- something for nothing

- easy, no-risk big money

Unfortunately this approach mostly attracts looky-loos, broke people, tire kickers, the incapable, and the unmotivated. These are not the right people. Don't pay much for this kind of traffic. Its best if it comes as a byproduct of targeted traffic generation strategies.

If we actually want to attract people who have some capital and the sense to start a business, we could be offering them:

- quality information with minimal hype

- free or cost-effective reources that will help them succeed at their business venture.

- availiability (phone number) and the sense that their is a real person there who is qualified to help them succeed.

The trick is to get the right people looking at our content when they are in the right position to move forward. This is the sweet spot. Here's an example:

Owning the search phrase "information about starting a home business" is practically worthless as far as making sales. The person
who wants this information is not anywhere close to getting started.

Owning "start a home business today" could be a much better search term to target. The phrase is far more reflective of the mindset of the person who is ready to get started.

I track where my traffic come from. I use Veretracking I know when it comes from ads, from articles, search engines, and from forum posts. I consider ads to be the weakest form of traffic, at least with Adwords.

"Heresy! Burn the witch! Adwords is the shining path to internet success!"

The thing is, adwords are these little quips which attract the neurotic clicking activity of the unfocussed seeker. People who have already read a lengthy forum post, article, blog or press release are far more likely to read the whole website.

Its important, if we have something worthwhile to say, that we attract READERS who actually take a real look at the information we present. Thats why I'm not wild about adwords. I am sure I will get strenuous objections. I actually do okay with my adwords campaigns, but I don't think the traffic is nearly as high quality as my content-motivated traffic.

Generate targeted traffic

Traffic, everybody needs quality traffic

unless you are giving away something that has a wide, relatively undesciminating

market (like nudie pics) you want targeted traffic to your site. Untargetd traffic

is pratically useless for selling anything online or even getting free newsletter

sign ups.

Trust me on this, a small quantity of the right traffic is vastly superior to 10,000

hits from people who weren't looking for what you have to offer. If you are buying

traffic in bulk, thats probably what you are getting and thats why its not

profitable to you.

In order to get the right traffic you need to get compelling content out there on

the web. Writing articles is a great way to do this. When somebody reads your

article they might check out your byline and see what you are offering. More

importantly, articles increase your site's relevancy in the search engines by

creating a lot of "backlinks" as the article gets distributed on the web.
